KNOWING THE BEST EYEBROW SHAPE FOR YOUR FACE

Just like how you meticulously choose the clothes that would perfectly flatter your body shape, the same should be done when it comes to getting the right eyebrow shape that would best compliment your face.

Eyebrows shapes are crucial in making the face look balanced and more defined. According to the website Daily Makeover, knowing the perfect brows depend on the dimensions of the face, which is the unique face shape of each individual. Consequently, achieving the right arches can not only emphasize the eyes and make you look younger, but more importantly, it can even help you do away with wearing excessive makeup.

The same website listed different face shapes and the corresponding eyebrow shape that will best compliment each, according to renowned celebrity eyebrow stylist Joey Healy (Kyra Sedgwick’s stylist) which are as follow:

First is for the Square face shape. Square jaw accents the angularity or sharpness of the face, hence the need for softly rounded brows that will balance the square-ness of the face. Avoid making the brows too angular, and of course take heed in making the brows appear too round by over plucking as it would create awkward round shape.

Second on the list is for the Round face shape. This is opposite of Square shape which logically means that the perfect brows are those which are highly angular or highly arched brow. The reason for this is that round face shape lacks definition, and employing perfectly angled brow would bring out and define facial bone structure that is lacking or not present.

Third is for Long face shape. This king of shape is characterized by features that are perpendicularly reclined. In such case, there is a need to extend the tails of the brows from east to west as to balance the excessive vertical stretch of the face with horizontal features of the brows. It is better to extend the tails of the brows longer beyond the corner of the eye. There is a reminder though when sculpting the tail and that is allowing it out too far will drag the eye down and make it appear droopy.

Fourth is for the Heart face shape. Those with this kind of face shape should not go with bold eyebrows, even if it is basically the hottest trend right now. The petite jaw line and emphasis on the upper portion of the face requires that the brows be kept well-manicured and exceptionally groomed. It basically something between not being too bushy and not being thin kind of brows. The idea here is to create a shape that is controlled and never bushy. This tight brow on the top hemisphere of the face will serve to balance the smaller chin and jawline of the bottom half.

Last on the list is the Oval face shape. As for this well-proportioned face shape, a classic and balanced brow is perfect.

So why is there a need to go through all this fuss about eyebrows? Well, from the word of Joey Healy himself, “The right brow will help open up the entire eye area and work to improve the face’s overall symmetry. The perfect brow will make you look fresh, rested, young, healthy, and overall, more attractive.”
